I offer individual therapy for ages 14+ in English and Spanish. I integrate the Trauma-Informed Approach, Mindfulness, CBT, and DBT therapy. Therapy is usually once weekly. However, it varies depending on need and availability. MMC and the client will work together to determine needs and establish goals. I will consider your therapy preferences to tailor the session to you. I specialize in therapy for depression, anxiety, trauma, interpersonal issues, emotional dysregulation & immigration trauma.

Trauma-Focused Therapy
If you have traumatic experiences that still trouble you, this is a safe space. All of my therapy is trauma-informed, meaning that I will be sure to be mindful of traumatic experiences and do my best not to exacerbate them. I also will be mindfully addressing your trauma with evidence-based practices, working with the mind-body connection to help you cope and heal.

Immigration Evaluations
All Evaluations Done Through Secure Video
Mental Health Evaluations occur over 2-3 meetings, each lasting 60-90 minutes. These are one-on-one interviews to assess the applicant's psychological symptoms affecting their case wholly. Depending on individual needs and case type, questionnaires and screening tools may be utilized as part of the assessment process.
The type of evaluation needed is typically something you decide with your immigration lawyer. If you do not have an immigration lawyer, you can use this link to search for one.

Professional Consultation and Trainings
MCC offers training for your staff on a variety of evidence-based treatments. We provide multiple-day workshops for your staff/faculty with the basics of DBT, CBT, and other treatments for children, adolescents, and adults.
We also provide corporate training on Mindfulness and implementing Dialectical Behavior Therapy in the workplace, and have been brought in to help enrich the quality of lives for employees. The frequency, focus, and nature of consultation are based upon a collaborative assessment of needs.
Lastly, we provide both professional trainings and clinical workshops to schools, businesses, and community agencies. Below are some examples of services that we currently offer:

Cognitive Behavior Therapy
What is CBT?
Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based treatment proven effective for various problems and diagnoses in children, adolescents, and adults. CBT is time-limited, solution-focused, and collaborative. CBT is goal-focused, so we will work with the client to identify their specific goals in coming to treatment. Treatment will be tailored to meet each individual’s particular needs.
In CBT, clients are first taught to understand the link between thoughts, feelings, and behavior. We will identify unhelpful thinking patterns and problematic behaviors that can lead to undesired or strong emotions such as depression, anxiety, and anger. Clients are then taught a range of coping strategies targeted at restructuring thoughts, developing new patterns of behavior that are more effective, and coping with unwanted emotions.
Clients are given a range of strategies to practice in between sessions to help generalize skills into daily life. Research supports the effectiveness of CBT alone or in conjunction with medication. When working with children and adolescents, parents are an important component of treatment. We believe in the importance of teaching parents the coping skills along with the adolescent client so that parents can serve as “coaches” in between sessions to help the child generalize the skills. We provide individual CBT for adolescents, young adults, and adults.
-
Dialectical Behavior Therapy
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based treatment designed to help people with significant difficulty managing their emotions.
DBT is a type of cognitive behavior therapy that is accepting and focused on problem-solving. DBT is composed of four main components: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness (including family relationships). DBT has a large body of research supporting its effectiveness with adults and adolescents. We conduct individual therapy sessions and skills training sessions for adolescents or adults needing more intense treatment. However, we do not offer a comprehensive DBT program.

Parenting/Family Sessions
Parenting is a rocky road. It's beautiful, chaotic, and heart-wrenching at times, and it can leave us feeling like we don't know what to do next. We support parents on their parenting journey, strengthening their parent-child relationship, addressing behavioral, academic, and socioemotional concerns, breaking negative family patterns, developing healthy communication and trust, and establishing clear rules and expectations so they and their families can thrive.

Therapy is an investment in yourself and your future, so it's important you understand what this investment will cost.
I am not in-network with insurance companies but an out-of-network provider. If you have that benefit, you can be reimbursed for a portion of my fee. Let’s discuss your options!
Please note: In my initial paperwork, I will ask for your insurance information to provide you with a completed Superbill.
INDIVIDUAL SESSION: $150 per session (60 minutes)
FAMILY/PARENTING SESSION: $175 per session (60 minutes)
IMMIGRATION EVALUATIONS: The evaluation costs start at $1100 and depend on the additional services needed. Please get in touch with Stefanny for a quote. Payment plans are available.
I offer limited need-based sliding scale slots subject to availability.
Questions To Ask Your Insurance Company:
What are my out-of-network benefits for outpatient behavioral health sessions?
This includes how much insurance will reimburse and asks if any services are not covered or require pre-authorization.
What address do I send a Superbill to?
This address may differ from where medical or dental claims are sent.
Is there a specific form the insurance company prefers that I complete and send my superbill?
Add any questions to ensure you understand your OON coverage and benefits.
